Technical Performance
The groundbreaking Lexus LFA pushes every boundary and challenges every rule in the supercar book. Breathtaking power is provided by a front mid-mounted engine with race-bred components. The hand-built 4.8 litre V10 engine delivers 412kW of power and 480Nm of torque, propelling it from zero to 100km/h in a staggering 3.7 seconds.
A six speed Automated Sequential Gearbox provides the driver with a very direct shift feel, while the four selectable driving modes and seven different shift speeds deliver an unparalleled degree of driver control. The racing inspired double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension ensure the driver and vehicle feel as one.
The Lexus LFA was hand crafted by a small, prestigious team of engineers who set out to create a car with peerless build quality. Each LFA is hand-built by a team of highly skilled craftsmen at a maximum rate of only 20 per month. In addition, the heart of each LFA – the bespoke 4.8L V10 engine - is assembled by a single engineer: a metallic label bearing their signature adorns the left cylinder head of each engine.
The Lexus LFA's Formula-1 inspired sound is overwhelmingly thrilling and is sure to get the hairs on your neck standing on end. The LFA’s acoustics, induction system and exhaust notes have been specially tuned to deliver an exhilarating soundtrack, both outside and inside the cabin. Referred to by the acoustic team as "Octave Harmony", it is inspired by the sound of a Formula 1 engine at full revs and is unlike that of any other road car.
Obsessed with reducing the weight of the vehicle, engineers also opted to use advanced Carbon Ceramic Material (CCM) brake discs. Each CCM disc is 5kg lighter than the previous steel discs ensuring even greater steering precision and dynamic agility. Compared to conventional steel brake discs, CCM discs also deliver exceptional fade-free braking for confidence-inspiring performance.
