The L-finesse design of the Lexus IS250 beautifully harnesses the energy of its 2.5-litre V6 engine. The direct injection technology enhances the power by injecting fine particles of fuel into the combustion chambers to create a consistent fuel-air mix. The intuitive Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) adjusts the engine to suit driving conditions by varying the amount of air the engine needs. This enables the engine to perform at 153 kW of power at 6400 r/min and 252 Nm of torque at 4800 r/min. The performance suits its appearance.
Add to this the Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS-i) and the journey becomes serene. The ETCS-i alleviates shock while the noise reducing suspension rounds off the silence. Even the electric power steering (EPS) is quieter than that of conventional hydraulic steering.
The six speed automatic transmission of the IS250 is electronically controlled for smoother gearshift resulting in overwhelming quietness. Even the close ratios between gears deadens wasteful noise while at the same time enhancing performance by improving acceleration. The AI-shift control (artificial intelligent) adjusts the timing of the gearshift to match road conditions catering for inclines and declines in road surface level. The car quietly adapts to the driver’s whim.

The IS250 exudes power, yet puts the technology to work for safety as well, giving you complete confidence in all driving conditions. Advanced safety technology has been fitted onto the vehicle to make tapping into its potential a stimulating experience.
The Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) monitors the engine output and braking of individual wheels to make adjustments in the event of an accident. By monitoring speed, steering angle and deceleration, the VSC prevents under- and oversteering. Even the standard 17-inch wheels, are designed to grip the road.
Also Intuitive is the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system (VDIM) which integrates the safety systems. The Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and anti-lock brake system (ABS) maintain the driver’s control over the vehicle in all situations. The Brake Assist System (BAS) takes the driver’s brake force and puts the vehicle’s energy behind it, adding braking strength when its needed. The IS takes safety to preventative levels.
The SmartAccess entry system falls both within this safety category and that of L-finesse, seamlessly anticipating the driver’s presence. The car unlocks when the handle is touched if the keycard is detected. The car also starts with the touch of a button.
